CHRISTINE TERRELL
ARTIST | MAKER | TRANSFORMER
As the product of a long line of Yankees, using things up is in my bones. As a kid I laughed at my mom's draw of 'gently used tinfoil', but now I totally get it. We all share this abundant yet still limited planet, so it's incumbant upon us to use our resources wisely. I just happen to think that a wise use of resources can also be inspiring and beautiful.
What's my Why?
It’s this drive to ‘waste not’ that continues to inspire me. Thrift stores have been my happy place since high school—hunting for treasure and finding potential in what others cast off. Stumbling across the idea of using old tin cans to make jewelry, I was immediately smitten.
How Does it Happen?
Transforming tin into jewelry has been my work for nearly two decades. Using little more than common hand tools, I'm continually exploring new designs and techniques. Tin is an endlessly inspiring and fascinating material and it's my hope that the joy in making is transmitted through each piece.
