Join me at The Mix in downtown Brunswick, Maine to play around with one of my favorite creative tools—gelli plates. The class will take place Saturday morning, September 13th, 2026 from 9 to 12p.
There is also an afternoon session on the 13th from 1 to 4p
If you’ve been looking for a new creative tangent to explore, Gelli printing is a fantastically engaging process. You get to play with color, shape and pattern in a no-pressure way that produces surprisingly beautiful results.
You'll have a chance to play around with printing natural objects, cutting your own stencils and creating patterns and textures using upcycled household materials.
Using simple techniques you can create everything from gorgeous, multilayered prints to one of a kind collage papers.
All supplies included and tools provided, but you are welcome to bring particular supplies if you are inclined. Possible things to consider bringing: old books, paper packaging, upcycled papers of all sorts, acrylic paint in your favorite color, interesting textures or tools that you don't mind getting paint on,
Students will each be able to make many prints and will come away from the class with a sense of how the gelli plate can be used to create colorful monoprints or patterned papers that can be used for everything from wrapping paper to collage.
After the workshop I will also follow up with pdf files that outlines the basic process as well as provide a simple tool and supply list with links.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations previous to two weeks before the workshop there is a 100% refund or a full credit toward a future workshop. Cancellations within two weeks of the workshop will receive a 50% refund.
